Taftish.uz Employees Detained on Suspicion of Fraud and Deception

On January 16, employees of the Taftish.uz website were detained in accordance with procedural measures on suspicion of fraud and deception, the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Department reported.

Those detained include Gayrat Aberayev (born 1988), Azizjon Yuldashev (1992), Sardor Khamidov (2000), Marjona Eshquvvatova (2006), and Dilshod Nishonov (1998). Their possible involvement in crimes related to slander and the dissemination of false information is currently under investigation.

It was also clarified that reports about the media outlet being closed are unfounded; the publication continues its daily operations, and further information on the situation will be provided.
