Surgeon who raped 299 children in France sentenced to 20 years

Joel Le Squarnec, a 74-year-old former surgeon in France, was found guilty of sexually abusing 299 children between 1989 and 2014 and sentenced to 20 years in prison. The man committed pedophilia from 1989 to 2014, raping 158 boys and 141 girls over a period of nearly three decades. The victims were on average 11 years old. The pedophile surgeon raped the children alone in the hospital, some while they were unconscious.
He has been serving a prison sentence since 2020 for raping four children, including two of his nephews. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for this act. The new court ruling sentenced the man to 20 years in prison.
The case was recorded as the largest child abuse case in French history.
