A surgeon in the US state of Florida removed the liver instead of the spleen of the patient during the operation. The 70-year-old patient died as a result of the accident.
According to information, the patient went to the hospital due to severe abdominal pain. During the operation, the doctor removed the wrong organ. The doctor stated in his testimony in court that during the operation there was severe bleeding and that he mistakenly removed the organs while trying to stop the bleeding.
