Famous Turkish actors Halit Ergenç and Riza Kocaoğlu, as well as their manager Ayşe Barim, were found guilty of giving false testimony in the investigation into the events surrounding the protests in Istanbul's Gezi Park

Ergenç, who gained popularity in Uzbekistan through the series "The Magnificent Century", was sentenced to 1 year, 10 months and 15 days in prison, while Kocaoğlu, known for his roles in the series "Inside" and "Deep", was sentenced to 1 year and 8 months.

However, the execution of the sentence was postponed, which means that the defendants have the opportunity to change the decision under certain conditions.

It is worth noting that Halit Ergench played the main roles in the projects “A Thousand and One Nights”, “A Magnificent Hundred Years”, “You Are My Homeland”, “Red Istanbul”, “Babylon” and others. In 2015, he took part in the film adaptation of the novel “Ali and Nino”, which was filmed in Azerbaijan.

Riza Kojaoglu is known for his roles in the TV series “Chukur”, “Kuzey Guney” and “Yorqin Olov”. He also starred in the films “10 Days of a Good Person”, “10 Days of a Bad Person” and “Trap”.
