Ministerial scholarships will be awarded to students of medical universities in Uzbekistan who have an IELTS certificate. This was reported by the SSV press service.

Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov announced at the meeting with the participation of system activists that changes to the current system and the system of paying the minister's scholarship to talented and ambitious students will be introduced.

"If we put this into practice, other students interested in foreign languages will follow and strive to achieve the same high results. For this, rectors of medical universities should pay special attention to talented students, and every department teacher should closely support future young professionals who have chosen the path of science," the minister said.

It is noted that the legal basis for the introduction of this innovation is expected to be developed soon.

Cost-reimbursed international examination systems

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who participated in the Youth Forum of Uzbekistan on December 25, 2020, announced that the expenses of taking the exam will be fully reimbursed to the young people who scored the highest points in international educational programs.

Based on this, in April 2021, by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, an administrative regulation was approved to fully cover the costs of taking the exam for young people who received a high score (level) according to the international examination systems. According to it, compensations for 5 international exam systems (IELTS, TOEFL, GMAT, GRE, SAT) will be paid from May 1, 2021, costs for another 13 exam systems will begin to be reimbursed from January 1, 2022. Only citizens of Uzbekistan who have not reached the age of 31 at the time of taking the exam and stateless persons permanently residing in Uzbekistan will be able to apply for reimbursement of expenses through State Service Centers or the Unified Portal.
