Students not wearing uniforms and late for classes were not allowed to attend

A video of a student who was not allowed to attend classes because he was not wearing a uniform has been widely shared on social media. The student said that on February 16, about 100 students who were not wearing uniforms and were late for classes at the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan were not allowed to attend classes. The student also said that such situations lead to loan repayments and additional expenses. Regarding the situation, UzJOKU Dean Aisha Zakirova stressed the importance of observing internal order and the academic environment. Nazokat Abdukunduzova, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, said that individual universities have the right to independently establish internal rules.
