Students and teachers stranded at a college due to flooding in China have been rescued
In the Chinese city of Guigang, more than 6,000 students and teachers stranded at a college due to flooding were evacuated to a safe area. Reports indicate that incessant rainfall caused flooding across the college grounds and the roads leading to the facility, preventing students and staff from leaving. Rescuers evacuated 500 people at a time using a 60-meter mobile pontoon bridge. No fatalities or serious injuries were reported among those involved.
Experts warn that heavy rainfall is expected to continue in the Guangxi region and that further flooding may occur.
