On the night of September 30, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck Cebu Province, Philippines. 27 people were killed and 143 injured in the incident. In San Remijo, the sports complex collapsed, killing 13 people, including rescuers. A fire broke out in the mall, destroying McDonald's.
