Strong earthquake hits Turkey
A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Turkey’s Balıkesir province, with tremors recorded at a depth of around 6 kilometers.
According to initial reports, several buildings were damaged or collapsed. Twenty-two people were injured, and eighteen of them were discharged after receiving first aid.
More than 100 aftershocks followed the main quake.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has taken the situation under personal control.
