State of emergency in South Korea

Forest fires are raging in South Korea. The fire broke out in Sancheong County, 250 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on March 21 and spread to other areas. It is reported that a state of emergency has been declared in Ulsan Metropolitan City, Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do provinces. Four firefighters died in the fire. Six people, including a local resident, were injured. About 1,500 people were evacuated, 260 people lost their homes and were placed in temporary shelters. Railway services in the areas affected by the natural disaster have been temporarily suspended. The number of victims and injured may increase.
