Staff Who Abused Children with Disabilities Dismissed
Physical abuse of children was discovered at the “G‘amxo‘rlik” Center for Children with Disabilities in Qo‘rg‘ontepa District, Andijan Region. This was reported by the National Agency for Social Protection.
After videos circulated on social media were reviewed, six caregivers and one nurse were dismissed from their positions. The children underwent medical examinations.
In addition, disciplinary measures were taken against officials who failed to properly supervise the staff’s activities. Additional surveillance cameras were installed at the playgrounds on the center’s premises.
