Distribution and use of this drug will be suspended until laboratory reports are received. We previously reported that 71 children were hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning in Namangan region.
According to the letter of the Ministry of Health, the possible cause of the poisoning was taking potassium iodide tablets ("Antistrumin") produced by SAMO.
Therefore, the Ministry of Health has ordered a temporary suspension of the distribution of potassium iodide tablets (Antistrumin) pending the receipt of laboratory reports on this drug.
