South Korean President sells his private home.
President Lee Jae‑myung has sold his apartment in Seongnam, near Seoul. He explained that the decision was made to support the government’s housing market stabilization policy and to strengthen public trust.
The 164‑square‑meter apartment was listed in February for 2.9 billion won (about 1.9 million USD) and sold at that price. It had been owned by Lee Jae‑myung and his wife Kim Hye‑kyung since 1998.
At a government meeting on housing policy, the president jokingly remarked: “Now I have no home.”
Currently, Lee Jae‑myung and his wife reside in the official presidential residence in Seoul.
