Smurfs set record in France

In a square in the small French town of Landerneau, 3,076 people dressed up as Smurfs and painted themselves blue. By doing so, they set a Guinness World Record. This was the third attempt in the town to beat the previous record set in Germany, and they succeeded.

The Smurfs were created in 1958 by Belgian artist Pierre Culliford, better known as Peyo. They first appeared in comics and later became popular cartoon and movie characters around the world.
