According to Sirojiddin Muhriddin, relations between Tajikistan and Russia depend on national interests, and not on external circumstances
The sanctions imposed by the West against Russia concern the whole world, including Tajikistan.
This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Sirojiddin Muhriddin during a press conference, summing up the work of the department in the first half of 2023.
"Our relations with Russia do not depend on external circumstances, we approach this issue based on the national interests of Tajikistan," the country's Foreign Minister said.
According to him, the republic is constantly working to expand the possibilities of Tajik-Russian relations.
This is confirmed by the constant visits of the parties to each other and forums, said Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin said that Moscow does not currently present a scenario in which the countries of Central Asia will join Western sanctions against Russia.
Despite the West, Tajikistan and Russia deepen cooperation
According to him, the dividends from a hypothetical joining the so-called sanctions are nothing compared to the losses that a break in relations with Russia could result in.
