Sinopec will invite Kazakh oil workers for an internship

ASTANA, September 8 - Sputnik. Issues regarding the implementation of new projects in the oil and gas sector were discussed by Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov and President of Sinopec Yu Baotsai, the government press service reports.

At a meeting in Astana, Alikhan Smailov recalled that Sinopec helped implement a number of significant projects in the republic, including the modernization of the Atyrau Oil Refinery.

According to Smailov, in a recent message to the people, the President of Kazakhstan outlined the need to form a strong industrial framework for the country. In particular, the task was set to accelerate the development of petrochemical industries.

“In this regard, the “anchor” project “Polyethylene” is an important stage in the development of the petrochemical industry, and its implementation will have a multiplier effect on the country’s economy. Considering that Sinopec is one of the world leaders in the field of petrochemicals, the question of the company’s entry into the project as an equal partner is of strategic importance,” said Alikhan Smailov.

The head of Sinopec said that cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the energy sector is developing at a high pace today. In turn, this makes a significant contribution to improving the well-being of the peoples of the two countries.

Yu Baotsai also took the initiative to organize a professional internship for Kazakh oil and gas industry specialists.
