Shymkent’s Smart Toilets Named the Best in the World

At the prestigious World Toilet Summit held in New Delhi in 2025, the city of Shymkent, Kazakhstan, received international recognition. The city’s smart public toilets were named the best in the world due to their innovative design, cleanliness, and user-friendly features.

These facilities are equipped with modern technologies, including automatic air purification systems, showers, baby changing tables, and background music for visitors. Most notably, all of these services are provided completely free of charge.

Currently, six smart toilets are operating in Shymkent. City authorities plan to increase this number to 40 in the near future. Experts believe this initiative will significantly improve urban infrastructure, support tourism, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
