The incident occurred on April 25 during the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner. An unknown assailant opened fire in another part of the hotel but failed to enter the banquet hall.
Trump, his wife Melania Trump and other high-ranking guests were immediately evacuated after the incident. There were about 2,500 guests at the dinner. According to preliminary reports, 4-8 shots were fired, and one Secret Service agent was injured.
The shooter has been arrested.
