Shelters for disaster victims are being built in Khorog

The construction of a temporary shelter for 80 victims of natural disasters is planned to be completed by the first ten days of September.

According to the chairman of the city, Reza Nazarzoda, the buildings will be erected in the Sharifabad microdistrict.

According to him, at present, housing construction is already 80% completed, it is expected that it will be put into operation by the first ten days of September.

In a conversation with residents affected by the natural disaster, the head of Khorog said that although the high mountains of the region protect residents from any natural disasters, in many cases, residents get into difficult situations from floods, avalanches and rockfalls.

He cited as an example the February avalanche in Khorog, which claimed the lives of 13 people and left 39 families homeless.

It was noted that the facility was built on the territory of the Committee for Emergency Situations in the city of Khorog and is designed for 80 environmental migrants.

The institution has a spacious hall, a modern kitchen, as well as rooms for mothers and babies with the necessary equipment.
