On September 5, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the project of the Master Plan of New Tashkent city.
Today, the number of people living and working in Tashkent is about 5 million people. Many houses and institutions are being built, and the load on the infrastructure networks is increasing. Nevertheless, there is a demand to build 20,000 houses, more than 40 schools, kindergartens, and polyclinics per year. Based on the pace of urbanization, the population is expected to increase further in the coming years.
On July 20 of this year, the President's decision on the measures to establish the New Tashkent city was adopted. According to it, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, a coordinating council for the construction of New Tashkent was formed and a directorate was established. The position of deputy responsible for this project was introduced in the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Economy.
For this huge project, 19,720 hectares of land were selected from the Upper Chirchik and Orta Chirchik districts of the Tashkent region. In the first stage, it is planned to build houses and infrastructure facilities for 100 thousand inhabitants on 2.5 thousand hectares. Leading foreign companies are involved by the directorate, and based on successfully tested practices in developed countries, the Master Plan, network plans and targeted programs are being developed.
A presentation of the draft Master Plan was held at the state unitary enterprise "TashkentboshplanLITI". The project of these components is being developed by 20 advanced companies from countries such as Singapore, England, China, Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands, South Korea, and the UAE. The head of our state emphasized the need to harmonize infrastructure sectors with advanced standards.
For the first time in our thirty-two years of independent history, we are building such a city, and we are attracting the world's leading companies to it. But are our industries and standards suitable for that, - asked Shavkat Mirziyoyev. - They should be coordinated with modern projects. Therefore, it is necessary to improve laws and standards in all relevant fields such as construction, energy, utilities, ecology, irrigation, and transport in accordance with the highest requirements of the world.
The President gave instructions to complete the detailed design work by the end of the year based on the Master Plan, and to identify the designer and construction companies for the first stage of construction.
It was emphasized that it is necessary to think about the exploitation of future buildings and infrastructure, and to train specialists in this regard.
