Today, on October 13, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded with a prestigious badge of honor at the CIS summit in Bishkek.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with the badge of honor by the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Japarov.

The Medal of Honor of the Commonwealth of Independent States was established by the decision of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS on October 7, 2002, and is awarded to individuals who have made a special contribution to the development of regional cooperation.

Until now, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, former President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, former President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and others have been awarded with this award.

Sadir Japarov highly recognized the efforts of the President of Uzbekistan aimed at strengthening friendship and good neighborly relations, ensuring security and stability, and sustainable development of the economy of the Central Asian countries and the entire CIS countries.

"In many respects, thanks to the personal efforts of Shavkat Miromonovich, a new atmosphere of trust has been created in the CIS, a favorable environment is being formed that serves to increase the volume of mutual trade and investment.

"The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan made an incomparable contribution to the strengthening of friendly and good neighborly relations, ensuring security and stability, and the stable socio-economic development of Central Asia and the entire CIS," said Sadir Japarov.
