Shavkat Mirziyoyev Warns Officials Over Investment Projects
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev warned ministers, sector leaders, and regional governors against delaying the implementation of investment projects. At a meeting held on February 13, it was noted that this year investment agreements worth $9 billion were signed with Turkey and $1.428 billion with Pakistan. Last year, agreements totaling $135 billion were reached during foreign visits.
It was instructed to increase the volume of construction to 400 trillion soums and ensure at least 17 percent growth in the sector. Additionally, 40 trillion soums have been allocated from the state budget for social and industrial infrastructure development.
The performance of the regional “Single Customer Service” companies was also criticized. It was emphasized that, on a pilot basis, the private sector should be involved in these services in Karakalpakstan, Samarkand, and Fergana.
