Shavkat Mirziyoyev Visits Packaging Production Company in Syrdarya

On December 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the “Invest Asia” company operating in the “Sirdaryo” Free Economic Zone, where he reviewed the technological processes being implemented there.

According to the Presidential Press Service, the company is one of the leading packaging manufacturers in Central Asia. Currently, 60 percent of polypropylene bags and soft containers, as well as 40 percent of stretch film on the domestic market, are produced by this enterprise.

Investors expressed their gratitude to the head of state, noting the favorable business and investment environment in the country, as well as the practical support provided to entrepreneurs.

According to Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov, during the visit the head of state will also take part in an extraordinary session of the Syrdarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies, where he will outline the priority tasks for the region’s socio-economic development.

The complex occupies 60 hectares of land and currently provides employment for nearly 2,500 people. Packaging products play a crucial role in many sectors, including food, pharmaceuticals, industry, construction, and household chemicals. Their quality has a direct impact on the safe storage, transportation, and timely delivery of goods to the market. Therefore, the local production of such materials helps reduce import costs, ensures stability in the domestic market, and significantly lowers expenses for manufacturers.

Another important aspect of Invest Asia is that it is the only enterprise in the country that produces bio-oriented polypropylene film. This film is one of the most popular packaging materials, distinguished by its strength and lightness. In the first ten months of 2025, the enterprise produced products worth 1.9 trillion soums, and exported $ 23 million. High-tech equipment manufactured in countries such as Austria, Germany, Italy, China and the USA is used in production.

In addition, by the end of the year, the region plans to launch the largest spunbond and meltblown non-woven fabric production facilities in Central Asia. These materials are widely used in medicine, construction, household chemicals, and agriculture. Once the project reaches full capacity, the number of jobs is expected to reach 10,000, and the polymer processing capacity will increase to 280,000 tons.

The President spoke with the company’s employees, familiarizing himself with their activities and future plans. He also met with foreign investors implementing major projects in the region and introducing new initiatives.

Investors highly praised the country's business and investment environment and expressed gratitude to the head of state for the opportunities being created.
