Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law on plant protection

According to the law, chemicals and plant protection products produced in Uzbekistan or imported from other countries must be registered. Registration is carried out according to the results of tests conducted by the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection under the Ministry of Agriculture (a specially authorized state body).

Chemicals and plant protection products are registered for a period of 5 years. The period of testing for registration should not exceed 2 years. In the presence of circumstances requiring urgent measures to protect plants, experimental use of unregistered plant protection products for up to 1 year is allowed.

Chemicals and plant protection products are allowed to be stored only in special storages or special rooms. It is forbidden to store them without a special container.

The law comes into force 3 months after its official publication.
