Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s Visit to Pakistan: Partnership Reaches a New Level

On February 5–6, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a state visit to Pakistan. In Islamabad, he held official meetings with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari.

During the visit, the Strategic Cooperation Council meeting was held, and over 20 agreements and joint statements were signed to expand cooperation in trade, economy, transport, energy, defense, education, and culture. A goal was set to increase bilateral trade volume to $2 billion in the coming years.

Mirziyoyev was awarded honorary titles of doctor and professor, as well as the “Nishani Pakistan” order. This visit elevated Uzbekistan–Pakistan strategic partnership to a new level.
