Shavkat Mirziyoyev's new article: "Central Asia on the threshold of a new era"

In an article published in the newspaper “Yangi Uzbekiston”, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the Central Asian countries have entered a new historical stage, developing cooperation based on mutual trust and solidarity.
According to him, border issues have been resolved, and bridges of friendship and cooperation have been built in the region. Mutually beneficial practical cooperation is demonstrated in the example of the Fergana Peace Forum, water and energy projects, including the Kambarota HPP-1.
Also, over the past eight years, the gross domestic product of the Central Asian countries has increased by almost two and a half times, and the volume of mutual trade has doubled. Uzbekistan’s trade with neighboring countries has increased from $2.4 billion in 2016 to $7.2 billion in 2024.
The President identified the development of youth potential in Central Asia, ecology, “green economy”, digital technologies, industrial cooperation and deepening humanitarian ties as priorities.
"Symbolically speaking, we are building a bridge, not a wall," concluded Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noting that ensuring peace, stability, and prosperity in the region is a common task for all states.
