Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspects a $54 million textile factory in Kashkadarya

During his visit to the Kashkadarya region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev toured a new factory belonging to the "Sulton Tex Group" cluster, located within the "Kashkadarya" Free Economic Zone.

The facility, valued at $54 million, has the capacity to produce and dye 20,000 tons of fabric annually. It has created 840 permanent jobs.

Water and energy-saving technologies have been implemented at the factory. A closed-loop water circulation system—an investment of $3 million—allows for the purification and reuse of over 95% of the water consumed, resulting in an annual saving of 1.1 million cubic meters of water.

A gas generator has been installed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for the enterprise. Additionally, solar panels with a total capacity of 3.5 megawatts have been mounted on the building's roof and walls. These technologies help reduce energy consumption and production costs.

Looking ahead, the cluster plans to implement a $70 million project within the Free Economic Zone, which is expected to create 3,570 new jobs. In other districts of the region, it is planned to provide employment for an additional 1,220 people through projects valued at $17 million.

During the visit, an entrepreneur presented the head of state with a garment manufactured at the factory.
