Shavkat Mirziyoyev negotiated with German Chancellor Olaf Scholes on 29 September as part of the first “Central Asia—Germany” summit in Berlin.
Topical aspects of bilateral relations were considered, issues of further development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany were discussed. Special attention was paid to expanding business partnership, deepening cooperation in the economy, investment, transport, energy and other sectors.
It was noted that the official visit of the head of Uzbekistan to Berlin in may this year gave a strong impetus to the activation of bilateral relations. In the following years, indicators of turnover and industrial cooperation doubled. The country is successfully operating leading German companies Volkswagen, MAN, CLAAS, Siemens, Linde, Aurubis, Henkel, Knauf, Papenburg, Deutsche Kabel and many others.
A portfolio of new projects in mining, energy, chemical, electrical engineering, textile industry and infrastructure has been formed. The head of state has put forward a number of specific proposals for regular conduct of joint economic activities, development of alternative energy, digitization of agricultural and Water Resource Management, deep processing of raw materials, expansion of financial instruments, strengthening ties between the territories of the two countries, cooperation in the field of migration and migration.
It was noted that both sides are interested in the development of cultural and humanitarian exchange, the implementation of joint programs in the fields of Science and education. Opinions were exchanged on ensuring regional security, including in terms of the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
At the end of the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited German Chancellor Olaf Schols to come to the country on an official visit.
