Shavkat Mirziyoyev: "Our strength is in unity"

On November 16, at the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined 7 main areas of development for the region:

1. Regional integration - territorial issues have been regulated, borders have been opened, trade has reached $10.7 billion, investments have increased by 17%.

2. Institutional strengthening - the Central Asian Community platform, the Secretariat, the Council of Elders and the status of national coordinators have been proposed.

3. Economy and investment - a 1.5-2-fold increase in trade volumes, a single investment space, the development of e-commerce.

4. Infrastructure and transport - cooperation on railway and transit projects, the creation of a Council.

5. Security and Afghanistan - a regional security concept, the integration of Afghanistan into projects, the Fergana Peace Forum.

6. Climate and water – declaration of 2026–2036 as the Decade of Water Management, regional competence center.
7. Humanitarian sphere – scientific and cultural cooperation, International Congress, Scientific Research Foundation, UN resolution.

Mirziyoyev assessed strengthening regional cooperation, achieving security and sustainable development, and Azerbaijan’s accession to the Consultative format as a historic step. Turkmenistan will chair the meeting in the new “Central Asia and Azerbaijan” format in 2026.

The President concluded his speech with the words: “Our strength is in unity, our path to success is in friendship and cooperation.”
