President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vo Van Txiong on October 17 as part of a practical visit to China.
The issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, above all, in the trade and economic sphere, were considered.
It is worth noting that Vietnam is an important traditional partner of Uzbekistan in the Asia-Pacific region. In the following years, dialogues at different levels have become more active, the volume of mutual trade and the number of joint ventures are increasing. Projects are underway in the agricultural and fishing sectors.
It was noted that there are opportunities for our leading companies to cooperate in the oil and gas complex, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical, textile, footwear, furniture, food and other industries, including within the framework of Special Economic Zones and industrial parks.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Vietnam also noted that it is important to promote exchange in the fields of culture, education and tourism.
