Shavkat Mirziyoyev Met with the President of Azerbaijan

At the invitation of Ilham Aliyev, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Baku on October 14. The leaders of the two nations exchanged views on issues of international and regional significance and discussed the agenda for upcoming events. The talks focused on further developing the strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries, as well as ensuring the implementation of agreements reached during high-level visits.
At the beginning of the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Ilham Aliyev on the successful conclusion of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and on the high-level organization of the organization’s seventh summit.
The parties paid special attention to the implementation of agreements reached during the President of Azerbaijan’s state visit to Uzbekistan in August 2026. Since the beginning of this year, the volume of mutual trade between the two countries has increased by 30 percent. It was noted that joint projects in the fields of geology, energy, construction, transport, logistics, light industry, and tourism have entered an active phase. Furthermore, various events and mutual exchange programs are being implemented as part of efforts to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties.
