Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspects operations of enterprises and greenhouses in Karakalpakstan
During his visit to Karakalpakstan, the President inspected the operations of a poultry enterprise and a greenhouse complex in the Kegeyli district. The "Kegeyli Baraka Naslli Parranda" enterprise was established with an investment of $7.8 million and covers an area of 21 hectares. The facility has the capacity to raise up to 200,000 chickens; currently, 130,000 chickens are being reared, and 70 local residents have been provided with permanent employment.
The complex produces 27.5 million hatching eggs annually. In addition to the domestic market, the enterprise exports its products abroad; as of September of this year, products worth $1.1 million had been exported to Afghanistan.
Furthermore, a 5-hectare greenhouse complex was established in the district using 12.5 billion soums in preferential funding. Under this project, 50 families listed in the Social Registry have been provided with employment. Each family has been allocated a 10-sotakh (1,000 square meter) greenhouse plot and receives practical training in farming and greenhouse management over a two-year period.
The greenhouse complex has also launched a program to train 1,000 citizens annually in greenhouse operations and farming. In particular, a farm with a capacity of 500 ducks was established to boost family incomes, and pedigree ducks were allocated to it.
The President emphasized that such projects serve to increase employment and incomes for the population, ensure regional food security, and foster the development of entrepreneurship.
