Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave a speech at the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization on November 9. In it, he called on the member states of the organization to work together in harmony.
"Today, the political architecture of the world is literally changing before our eyes and global reconstruction is taking place. It is important that the countries of our organization, which has a great place in these complex processes, work together and find effective solutions to the emerging threats," said the head of state.
The President noted that the members of the organization are closely connected by common history and our holy religion of Islam, rich culture and similar values.
In addition, the head of state listed the main directions of the document, which defines the priority areas and branches of the organization in the future. According to the head of the state, special attention is paid to the facilitation of trade in goods and services, elimination of technical and notary barriers, digitization of customs, phytosanitary and veterinary procedures, development of electronic trade.
During his speech at the summit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev touched upon the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and called on the parties to immediately stop hostilities, start peaceful negotiations and come to a reasonable compromise.
"The Palestinian-Israeli war in the Middle East, which poses a serious threat to global peace and security, is of great concern to all of us. Unfortunately, as a result of this bloody conflict, first of all, representatives of the civilian population, especially women, children and the elderly, are becoming victims. The danger of the war spreading across the region is becoming more and more real. It is absolutely impossible to allow the confrontation to turn into a large-scale conflict. We call on the parties to immediately stop hostilities, start peaceful negotiations, and reach a reasonable compromise."
The president drew attention to the fact that the summit is being held without the participation of Afghanistan, one of the members of the organization.
"The multi-ethnic people of Afghanistan, who have been our neighbors for centuries, cannot be left alone in the face of today's complex problems. "Active involvement of this country in regional integration processes is an indispensable and necessary condition for our sustainable development," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The head of state called on everyone participating in the summit to increase humanitarian aid to the Afghan people, to solve acute socio-economic problems in this country on the basis of collective responsibility and acceptable mechanisms.
