Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed deep gratitude to the Uzbek people

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, speaking at the ceremony of presenting state awards on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence on August 26, noted that although 35 years is a short period in history, the work done and the results achieved during this time are worthy of a century.

The head of state noted that the main author of the changes in the country is the hardworking people. He especially noted the contribution of farmers and peasants, teachers, doctors, scientists, entrepreneurs, builders, representatives of culture and art, military personnel, and civil servants.

According to the President, over the past 10 years, more than $160 billion in foreign investment has been made in Uzbekistan. The size of the country's economy has increased by more than 2.5 times, and this year the gross domestic product is expected to exceed $180 billion. It was also reported that 5.7 million permanent jobs were created in industry, services and agriculture, and 650,000 families were provided with new housing.

The President expressed deep gratitude to the entire Uzbek people, who are the greatest strength and support of independence.
