Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed condolences over the plane crash in India
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a letter of condolences to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the tragic plane crash near the city of Ahmedabad in the Indian state of Gujarat, which claimed the lives of many people. This was reported by the Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.
The head of state expressed his deep condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died in the crash, as well as to the entire Indian people. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
According to the latest information provided by the Indian police, none of the 244 people on board the Air India plane — 230 passengers, 2 pilots and 12 flight attendants — survived. The number of victims on the ground is still being determined.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, there were no Uzbek citizens on the crashed plane.
