Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized water management officials

At the meeting of the video projector, which is currently under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that the water problem is becoming relevant every day.
 
In the past two years, a large subsidy has been allocated to water management, including water-saving technologies. 
 
But it was shown that 36% of the 39 billion cubic meters of water consumed last year was lost in the earthen canals and ditches.  
 
In addition, it was said that 5-6 billion cubic meters of water were wasted and thrown into collectors, since 70% of the land was irrigated in the old way. 

Today, more than 5,000 pumps are used to irrigate 2.5 million hectares, and 7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity are spent per year. But, 80 percent of pumps have been used for 35-40 years and have passed their resource.

Noting that the head of our state is deeply concerned about such a situation in water management, he strongly objected to the authorities of the industry.
 
Tasks were given to reduce losses by making the channels concrete, to replace the pumps with energy efficient, to install an automated meter in the waterworks.
