Shavkat Mirziyoyev Attends Business Forum in Japan

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a visit to Tokyo on December 18–19, where he took part in a business forum and a series of official meetings held within the framework of the “Central Asia + Japan” dialogue. The forum was attended by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, as well as the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

During the event, participants discussed issues related to expanding trade and economic cooperation between Central Asian countries and Japan, attracting investment, introducing advanced technologies, and developing industrial cooperation. Japanese companies such as Sumitomo, Chubu Electric Power, Shikoku Electric Power, Toyota Tsusho, Sojitz, and JOGMEC presented joint initiatives aimed at building solar power plants, establishing medical centers, developing infrastructure, and advancing mineral resource projects in Uzbekistan.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also held meetings with Emperor of Japan Naruhito, members of parliament, and representatives of the Japan–Uzbekistan Friendship League. In addition, he discussed strategic partnership and investment projects with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ryosei Akazawa, as well as with the heads of major Japanese companies. On December 19, the President attended an official reception held at the Akasaka Palace in honor of the leaders of Central Asian states.
