Shagabitdin Karimov congratulated President Ilham Aliyev

Plenipotentiary Representative of the Caucasian Muslims Office for Dagestan and the North Caucasus Shagabitdin Karimov sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Report informs, the letter says:

"Dear Ilham Heydarovich!

On behalf of the Muslims of the North Caucasus and myself, I cordially congratulate you on the 100th anniversary of your father, an outstanding political figure of our time, a national leader and pride of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyevich Aliyev.

Heydar Aliyev left a bright indelible mark on the history of not only the Republic of Azerbaijan, but also all the peoples of the former USSR as a wise politician and a true people's leader. An extraordinary personality, a far-sighted leader, a courageous son of his people, Heydar Alievich Aliyev, in a very difficult time, managed to unite Azerbaijanis around the world around the idea of Azerbaijanism, thereby laying an unshakable foundation for the unity of the Azerbaijani people and the invincibility of the Azerbaijani state. At the same time, his outstanding political legacy has secured Azerbaijan a worthy place in the world community and the respect of friendly countries, including Russia. It is impossible to imagine the history of the modern Azerbaijan Republic without Heydar Aliyev.

Unforgettable for me is a memorable personal meeting with Heydar Alievich in 1997, which forever left in my heart boundless respect for this outstanding personality. I was truly fascinated by his wisdom, foresight and ability to deeply analyze any problem, be it politics, economics, culture or the spiritual sphere. “I have always been proud and today I am proud that I am an Azerbaijani,” he said, and in all his words and deeds there was always a priority that he gave to the interests of the Azerbaijani people and state.

Continuing the work of your great father, you, dear Mr. President, ensure the further progress of Azerbaijan and its glorious people, and also make a worthy contribution to the strengthening of friendship, close good neighborliness and mutual trust, which for centuries have connected and continue to unite the peoples of our countries.

Today, the great Heydar Aliyev lives in your deeds, based on the solid foundation he laid for the stability and prosperity of Azerbaijan, in your exceptional services to the state and people. I am sure that the ideas of the national leader will continue to be carefully preserved, passed on from generation to generation and serve as a beacon for the further development of a beautiful country - Azerbaijan!

I wish the fraternal Azerbaijani people prosperity and well-being under your wise leadership. May there always be a clear sky over your beautiful land! Peace, goodness and prosperity to Azerbaijan!"
