Severe Flooding Hits Istanbul

Heavy rainfall has affected several regions in Turkey, with Istanbul, in particular, experiencing severe flooding. Torrential rain, which began on the evening of October 13, led to widespread flooding by October 14. Streets, underpasses, homes, and commercial establishments were inundated, and some vehicles became trapped in the floodwaters.

Due to the heavy precipitation, in-person classes at both public and private educational institutions in Istanbul were suspended for one day on October 15. Additionally, the use of motorcycles was temporarily prohibited. Efforts are currently underway in the city to address the aftermath of the flooding.
