Several people involved in drug trafficking have been detained in Surkhandarya

During operational measures carried out in Surkhandarya Region, the illegal circulation of nearly 3 kilograms of narcotic substances was stopped.

In Denov District, 1 kilogram and 7 grams of opium and 998 grams of hashish, allegedly stored for sale, were found in a resident’s home. Two other individuals were detained while attempting to sell 491 grams of hashish for 85 million soums.

In Termez, a citizen of Afghanistan born in 2003 was detained while attempting to sell 506 grams of opium for $2,500. It was established that he had illegally brought the drugs from Afghanistan into Uzbekistan by concealing them inside his body.

Criminal cases have been opened in connection with the incidents, and the investigation is ongoing.
