Summing up the results of his semi-annual activity, the Ombudsman of Tajikistan informed about the questions citizens address the institution
In the first half of 2023, the bodies of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Tajikistan received more than 870 appeals from individuals and legal entities.
This was stated at the final press conference by the Commissioner for Human Rights in Tajikistan Umed Bobozoda.
According to the agency, the number of applications for 6 months of last year amounted to about 540.
"In total, out of 871 appeals of legal entities and individuals to the bodies of the Commissioner for Human Rights, 32 were positively resolved, which is less than 4%," he said.
Citizens usually turn to the ombudsman on issues related to the right to housing, social security, domestic violence and others.
In particular, according to official information, in the first half of the year, the number of applications on the topic of prevention of domestic violence increased. If in the first 6 months of last year 2 appeals to human rights bodies were registered, this year this figure has reached 5.

The Commissioner emphasized that checks and monitoring will be carried out according to his plans and according to the results of citizens' appeals.
