Senator Qudratilla Rafikov proposed changing the coat of arms of Uzbekistan

Senator Kudratilla Rafikov, in his article about Shavkat Mirziyoyev's political path, expressed his opinion that some symbols on the state emblem of Uzbekistan should be revised.
According to Rafikov, even after independence, elements of the former Soviet ideology have been preserved in the state emblems. He noted that cotton and grain do not represent the current national identity and spiritual image of Uzbekistan. His views have caused widespread discussion on social networks.
He also recalled that initiatives have been put forward in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to rid state emblems of elements of the Soviet era. In particular, a law on changing the flag was signed in Kyrgyzstan, while a proposal to update the state emblem was made in Kazakhstan.

Recall that the current state emblem of Uzbekistan was adopted on July 2, 1992.
