Scientists at the University of the Cote d'Azur have found that small changes in GPS signals can help predict large earthquakes about two hours before they occur. Futurism reported about it. According to experts, it can save many lives. A team of scientists analyzed GPS data from 90 major earthquakes of magnitude seven or greater and found evidence of an earlier phase. During this period, the fault lines of the tectonic plates begin to shift, resulting in strong earthquakes. It is noted that there have been other attempts to accurately predict strong earthquakes, but they have failed. This is largely due to the fact that scientists do not fully understand the relationship between these signals and actual seismic activity. According to Roland Burgman, a seismologist at the University of California, more observations are needed to confirm this research. Source: Daryo.uz
