The 2026/2027 academic year in Uzbekistan’s general education schools will begin on Wednesday, September 2.
This year, a "Presidential Gift" will be presented to the more than 795,000 students enrolling in the first grade. The set includes a school bag, notebooks, pens, pencils, colored paper, modeling clay, and other school supplies. More than 6.7 million students are expected to study in the country's 10,225 schools during the new academic year, with over 550,000 teachers providing instruction.
Classes at academic lyceums and technical schools will also begin on September 2. Meanwhile, at higher education institutions, first-year students will start their studies on September 7, while students in upper years will begin on September 14.
