Samarkand: UNESCO Session Opens with Jonas Kaufmann Concert and Meeting with Yerlan Karin

Yesterday, the official opening ceremony of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference took place at the “Silk Road Samarkand” Congress Center. This historic event holds great significance for our country and once again showcased Uzbekistan as a center of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The famous tenor Jonas Kaufmann and pianist Hélène Mercier added a special charm to the celebration with their unique and emotionally rich musical performances.

Today, within the framework of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand, a meaningful meeting was held with the State Advisor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Karin.

It was noted with satisfaction that, thanks to the political will and joint efforts of the leaders of our countries, relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are steadily strengthening for the prosperity of our brotherly nations.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for strengthening humanitarian ties, implementing joint projects in culture, science, and education, as well as promoting new initiatives.
