Saida Mirziyoyeva visited Samarkand on the instructions of the President

On April 24 of this year, the Head of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva visited the Samarkand region and got acquainted with the state of drinking water supply in the Toylok district. The reconstruction and renovation of water networks in the region were reviewed. It was noted that 231.1 thousand people live in the district, of which 85.5 percent are provided with centralized drinking water. In the remaining areas, residents still use wells and hand pumps.

In particular, it was revealed that the old water facility in the “Bogichinor” neighborhood (built in 2002) has become technically unusable, so water is supplied only 4 hours a day. To solve this problem, it is planned to reconstruct the facility based on a new project and lay an 8.5 km water network. As a result, 3.3 thousand residents will be provided with centralized drinking water for the first time.

During the visit, they also got acquainted with the construction and reconstruction works in Urgut district. The activities of family polyclinic No. 21 in the “Bahrin” neighborhood, which serves more than 13 thousand residents, were inspected. In addition, the newly reconstructed “Navoi” family polyclinic was also visited. A modern maternity ward has been established in this institution, serving 16 rural women. It was noted that the first baby was born here recently. It was reported that this medical institution was built in 1972 and previously needed major repairs and renovation. As a result of the work carried out, the quality of medical services in the region is significantly improving.
