Saida Mirziyoyeva said that Uzbekistan is ready to host the session of the UNESCO General Conference

Assistant president of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva, via her Telegram channel, posted on September 4 at UNESCO's headquarters in Paris, “Abu Rayhon Beruniy. Geographical and intellectual travel " exhibition has opened.

It is noted that this project is dedicated to the 1050th anniversary of the birth of the great alloma and thinker.

Visitors can learn about the life and work, discovery and research of Abu Rayhon Beruni with the help of visual installations. The exposition provides a separate space for alloma's manuscripts collected from the French National Library Foundation.

"I think that this project will create great interest in the European public and will further enrich their vision of the Uzbek land, which is proud of the heritage of our great allies.

At the same time, I will gladly inform you that Uzbekistan is ready to hold the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand in 2025! If this proposal is approved, this historical event will be able to change the tradition of calling UNESCO sessions only in Paris, which has lasted more than 40 years,” writes Saida Mirziyoyeva.At the end of August, the presidential decision “on support for the establishment of the UNESCO — Uzbekistan international prize named after Abu Rayhon Beruniy” was announced. In accordance with the resolution, the establishment of the UNESCO – Uzbekistan International Prize named after Abu Rayhon Beruniy in cooperation with UNESCO and the holding of international exhibitions and events dedicated to the life and work of Abu Rayhon Beruniy on September 4-8, 2023 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris are established at a high level.
