Saida Mirziyoyeva held a meeting of a special commission on Tashkent air quality

A special commission dedicated to the quality of the capital's air is being held under the leadership of the Head of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva.
“Our President asks me for a report on this issue every day. When it comes to public health, no one has the right to be indifferent,” said Saida Mirziyoyeva.
The meeting was reported by the governors of the city and region of Tashkent, Shavkat Umurzakov and Zoir Mirzayev, the head of the Ecology Committee, Aziz Abdukhakimov, and representatives of law enforcement agencies. It was reported that the situation is under constant control, and 24-hour monitoring of the air quality is being conducted.
Analyses conducted using Japanese technology showed that 40 percent of dust in the air is associated with human activity, and 60 percent is natural.
The issue of establishing a large scientific laboratory for monitoring atmospheric quality was also considered.
During the raids conducted on November 23–29:
🔹 73 greenhouses,
🔹 40 construction sites were temporarily suspended;
🔹 215 citizens were held accountable for violating environmental regulations;
🔹 1,959 drivers were fined for transporting cargo openly.
Also, ditches were cleaned, streets were moistened, fountains were put into operation, and dozens of cases of illegal sand and gravel mining were exposed. According to officials, as a result of the measures taken, the level of air pollution has slightly decreased in recent days.
Based on this, Saida Mirziyoyeva gave strict instructions to expand green areas in Tashkent and the region, restore the drainage system, and reduce harmful substances emitted from industry and greenhouses. It was emphasized that each measure should have a specific deadline and be implemented systematically. According to him, such a situation must not be repeated next year.
