President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated employees of the banking sector on their professional holiday. This is reported by the press service of the head of state.

Sadyr Zhaparov noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency — the Kyrgyz som. In 1993, Kyrgyzstan was one of the first post-Soviet states to put the national currency into circulation and switched to an independent monetary policy. The introduction of the national currency played an important role in the history of a sovereign country and served as the basis for the formation and development of the national payment and banking systems.

"Thanks to dedication to work, high professionalism of bank employees, ability to achieve goals, strong civic consciousness and responsibility, the banking system has achieved high performance, contributing not only to the development of the domestic financial system, but also to the economy of the republic as a whole," the President stressed.

He also believes that, taking into account global trends and challenges, the banking system faces the challenges of introducing innovative banking products and technologies, improving the quality and expanding access to banking services, introducing the principles of sustainable financing and improving cybersecurity.

"I am convinced that through joint efforts, patriotism and conscientious work, priority tasks will be implemented to strengthen the financial well-being of citizens and the financial stability of the state.
