Russian police officers are being paid to send detainees to war

According to the Verstka newspaper, starting in August 2024, police officers, precinct inspectors, investigators and operatives in Russia will be paid a reward of 10,000 to 100,000 rubles for each person arrested and sent to war under a contract with the Ministry of Defense.
A criminal case against a suspect who agrees to go to war will be suspended, the preventive measure will be canceled, and the conviction will not be recorded.
In June, 3,333 detainees were offered to go to war, 392 of whom agreed. The police officers are said to be earning more than their monthly salary from this.
